Dr. Mukesh Haikerwal

Dr. Mukesh Haikerwal is a General Medical Practitioner in Melbourne's Western Suburbs and is also a Professor in the School of Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia. Between February 2008 and June 2009, he was appointed as Commissioner to the National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission by the Prime Minister and Minister for Health. Dr. Haikerwal was the 19th Federal President of the Australian Medical Association, its Federal Vice President and, prior to that AMA Victorian State President. He is currently the Chair of the Beyondblue National Doctors' Mental Health Program and the General Practice Data Governance committee.
